Admissions

  • Our admissions process begins one year prior to intended entry.
  • Children who will be 2 years old (or older) on or before August 31, 2025 will be eligible to apply for the 2025-26 school year.
  • Our birthday cutoff for the 2025-26 school year is August 31, 2023.

Our Application Process

Application

Once the application for admission becomes available, completed applications must be submitted to FPCNS no later than Friday, November 1, 2024. Applications submitted after November 1st will be placed on a wait list. We will contact you if there is an opportunity to apply. Click here to submit an application. 

Lottery

Applications submitted by the deadline will be entered into an admissions lottery. Parents will be notified of lottery results by the end of November. Parents whose applications are drawn from our lottery will be contacted to schedule admissions appointments.

Tours

Get an exclusive look inside our storied classrooms, woodworking studio atelier, Project APPLE kitchen, library, rooftop playground, and gardens! Applicant families will be cordially invited to join us for in-person tours of FPCNS. During our time together, we will provide an inside look into a day in the life of the classroom. Families will be invited to sign up via the Parent Portal. 

Child Visit

The child visit is an opportunity for us to get to know your child as a learner. Children will have an opportunity to do what they love best in our learning spaces: play! Please save the date! We look forward to meeting your child in person on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Notification

Letters of notification will be emailed to parents according to the dates specified by the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance for families is available through the FPCNS Scholarship Fund. As a part of our commitment to diversity at FPCNS, we actively raise funds to provide financial assistance for children who would otherwise not be able to attend our school. Financial assistance awards are based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds.

Applicants Eligible for Early Decision Notification

The option of Early Decision Notification is offered to sibling applicants, children of alumni, and First Presbyterian Church members who are active in the life of the Church and who have joined the Church by October 2022. Families who meet these eligibility requirements may elect Early Decision Notification in the fall of 2024, applying for the 2025-26 school year. Please note that Early Decision Notification is never a guarantee of admission.
